SUNDAY TODAY|WE ARE SAVED BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST

We are “saved” (born again and placed into the body of Christ) by grace (Christ is God’s unmerited – not able to earn it, so no need to keep trying – favor) through faith (the ability to trust Christ, though everyone doesn’t use it for this purpose). No works involved in “receiving nor maintaining” salvation, so why are works debated so often? Apostle James says “show me your faith without works, and I will show you my faith by my works.” Never does he say “show God your faith,” because God already knows those who have faith and those who don’t.
Don’t focus on works to show that you know God. Focus on getting to know God, and He may do some works through you. 🙏🏿❤✌🏿

Are we justified by faith only, by works only or both?

Proficient Vincent

I read this morning in Galatians 2:16 (KJV)
“man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ”

But in james 2:24 (KJV)
“by works a man is justified, and not by faith only”

Are we justified by faith only, by works only or both?

If these scriptures makes you contradict the Gospel then you need to learn more on how to understand the Bible.
Read the context that James is speaking when he talks about works. He precedes his comment about faith and works by talking about the royal law. The royal law is about love. Loving your neighbors. James is simply saying what Paul said but in another way? What did Paul say? Gal 5: 14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

The work minded want to claim they are saying opposite things to justify their works gospels. Let’s take James in the context of the works he was talking about and not all the things the works minded use to justify all the things they use to corrupt the gospel of grace. So James was really saying that if your faith is in God who is love, there should be some evidence of it. What did Paul say was the fruit of the Spirit? Love, peace, joy…

James and Paul were not disagreeing. It’s not what James said but what people think He said. We are justified by faith alone. Jesus said this. John 5:24 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and👉 believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.

Peter said this, 1 Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 who are kept by the power of God through👉 faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”
Here Peter says God does it all. Every part. He begets us. He keeps us by His power. He guards our salvation and reserves it in heaven. We have faith.

Paul:8 For by grace you have been saved👉 through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.”

James:8 “If you really fulfill the 👉royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you do well”

The truth is the works minded just don’t like the gospel Paul taught because it leaves nothing for man to boast about.
